Hey folks,
I just finished up my next game for OneGameAMonth. That’s four games already in 2013! Wow.
This game is a tower defense game, which takes place in a hexagon world. Locate the energy totem and defend it all costs. Initially, I wanted to make a Plants vs. Zombies clone and just release a prototype for this month and then polish it up in May, but I somehow lost the appeal. My motivation seems to just take a dip when you have a proof of concept. “Yeah, it’s possible. I could make a full-fledged game like this.” Then it’s all about content creation, tweaking parameters and playtesting. And maybe refactoring, which I unfortunately didn’t do after I introduced enemies in my game. Also, you come up with a new game idea and suddenly, you just want to finsh the “old game”. I’m still content with the results, but I missed a large amount of potential and doubt there will be a polished May version. Enjoy.

March entry to OneGameAMonth: Moving Blocks
March idea was a Sokoban clone because those puzzles can be represented in text form and can be easily loaded via program. The result is a very simple game which may entertain you more than a few minutes.
February entry to OneGameAMonth: Galton
Hello children!
This month was quite stressful because of my exams, but I still managed to create something playable. My intention was to test out the Bullet physics engine with Ogre3D. So I made a little physics “game”. Acutally, it’s more or less a Galton Board. Your objective is to collect every coin on the board with the least balls possible. Enjoy.
January entry to OneGameAMonth: F-Zeruga
Hey everyone,
I’ve just finished my game F-Zeruga for the first OneGameAMonth challenge.
The name is a mix-up of “F-Zero” and “Ikaruga“.
F-Zero, because you fly a glider through a course.
Ikaruga, because you can change your orientation of your glider.
I wanted to create a fast and challenging 3D game that focuses on time attack. During the creation of the ship’s model, I noticed the symmetry and introduced objects to the world, which interact depending on your ship’s orientation. There are also ranks calculated by your top nine highscores. That being said, if you manage to reach the goal in under 13.00 seconds, please post a video or describe your tactic, you may win something. Or not.
